Something I’ve been doing for a long time, this..... even longer than it took for me to get round to starting off this section.

I think I was given my first camera somethime around 1985/1986 - it was merely one of them HALINA 110mm rectangular jobbies, which I eventually broke. It only ever really got used when I was on Holiday with my Grandparents twice a year + at the local Whitby Regatta.

Around 1988 I was upgraded to a posher Rollei B35 belonging to one of my parents., until the back cover came loose & the mechanism locked up. Again, mostly used on Holiday with my Grandparents... and not necessarily successfully (manual adjustable focus, f/ratio’s, etc).

Then, along came in 1989 or 1990 my first half decent camera (kind of)..... an Olympus am-100 Compact, which I’ve been using practically ever since and been almost everywhere with...... AND IT STILL WORKS!!!!!

It was joined after doing my Christmas shopping for 2001, by a TRUST SpyC@m100 - more a sort of Webcam you can carry around in your pocket than a true digital camera. It may have a miniscule number of megapixels (about 0.1 - 0.3 depending what mode you have it in).... but it satisfies my long held snap-happiness, and in the right lighting can pull off some semi-decent shots.

Earlier this year (March 2006, to be precise), I bought pretty much the best yet - A Fuji Finepix A345 4.1megapixel Digital Camera. This takes shots as good or better than the Olympus, and still satisfies my snap-happy tendencies...... and as an added bonus also fulfills my long held desire for a Camcorder as it records movie clips with sounds - yet fits into my pockets no probs. Oh yeah, and it also has a zoom lens.... and the LCD screen on the back almost does away with my long held wish to own an SLR style camera as it lets you see the picture as the lens sees it, not as the viewfinder sees it.

In August / September 2007, I picked up a Fuji Finepix S6500fd in the hopes of having a serious crack at doing photography for a living.
